Empire State Building, 1949

View of the Empire State Building in Winter

Original caption: At about 5:30 PM Acme photographer Bertram Brandt took a kind of “Busman’s Holiday” in making several shots from the windows of the 16th floor Acme offices in Manhattan. Looking due east he caught the glowing Empire State Building, tallest structure in the world, jutting high into the darkening sky. Left of the giant skyscraper is Macy’s Department Store. The big building to the right of the Empire State is the McAlpin Hotel.
